This Privacy Policy applies to the mobile application GeoDash: Flag & Capital Quiz (hereinafter referred to as the 'App'), developed and maintained by Lokesh Kumar Jain / Darpo. This page is used to inform visitors regarding our policies with the collection, use, and disclosure of Personal Information if anyone decides to use our App.
1. Overview & Anonymous Guest Play
GeoDash is built with a privacy-first approach. You can enjoy 100% of the game as an anonymous guest without registering an account, providing your legal name, submitting your email address, or sharing your telephone number.
When you first launch the App, a randomized Guest Player ID (e.g., GD-XXXX) and algorithmic codename (e.g., MapWanderer) are generated solely to track your score, streak milestones, and category badges.
2. Information Collection and Storage
A. Local Gameplay Data (On-Device)
Your gameplay statistics (experience points, country mastery badges, streak shields, and quiz scores) are saved locally on your device via Android application storage. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly opt into cloud backup.
B. Cloud Leaderboard & Backup (Optional)
If you choose to link a Google Account or participate in the Global Top 50 Leaderboard, your anonymous Player ID, codename, and cumulative XP are synchronized to Google Firebase Firestore. No real names or emails are publicly exposed on the leaderboard.
C. Advertisements (Google AdMob)
GeoDash displays advertisements provided by Google AdMob (banner ads, occasional interstitial ads between quiz sessions, and optional user-initiated rewarded videos for streak shields). Google AdMob may process device identifiers, such as the Android Advertising ID (AD_ID), to serve personalized or non-personalized ads according to user consent and regional regulations (GDPR/CCPA). Users who purchase GeoDash Premium enjoy a 100% ad-free experience with no advertising trackers.
D. In-App Purchases (Google Play Billing & RevenueCat)
Optional digital purchases (such as GeoDash Premium or Remove Ads) are handled securely by Google Play Billing and RevenueCat. We never collect, process, or store credit card numbers, bank details, or billing addresses.
3. Permissions Requested
The App declares only the bare minimum permissions essential for standard operation:
- INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: Used to check network connectivity, synchronize cloud leaderboard scores, and fetch ads when online. All quiz data is bundled so the game remains completely operational offline.
- com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID: Used strictly by the Google Mobile Ads SDK for attribution and ad delivery on Android 13+.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Optional): Used solely to deliver an optional local daily streak reminder if enabled by the player.
What We NEVER Access:
GeoDash does NOT request access to your precise or coarse GPS location, camera, microphone, contacts, phone status, or device photos/media files.

5. Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)
GeoDash is an educational geography quiz game suitable for general audiences. The App does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13 years of age. If you are a parent or guardian and discover that your child has provided personal information to third-party services through our App, please contact us immediately so we can assist in taking necessary deletion actions.
6. Security & Encryption in Transit
We value your trust. All network communication between the App and backend services (such as Firebase and AdMob) is transmitted strictly using secure industry-standard cryptographic protocols (HTTPS / Transport Layer Security - TLS).
7. Data Deletion and User Rights
You retain total control over your data:
- Local Data Deletion: You can wipe all locally stored scores, badges, and progress at any time directly through your Android phone settings: Settings > Apps > GeoDash > Storage > Clear Storage / Clear Data.
- Cloud Data Deletion: To request deletion of your anonymous Player ID or leaderboard entry from our Firebase cloud storage, email us at connect@darpo.in with your Player ID. We process all valid requests within 30 days.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may periodically update our Privacy Policy to reflect app improvements, new features, or statutory regulatory adjustments. Any revisions will be published immediately on this dedicated page with a revised Effective Date.
